The inside story
Football fans and blues fans will love the Etihad Stadium, home to England’s second largest football club, Manchester City!
Built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games with a 55,000 seating capacity, this young stadium has hosted some important events including the 2008 UEFA Cup Final as well as rugby matches and boxing fights. In 2011, the stadium changed its name to Etihad Stadium because of a 10-year advertising agreement with Etihad Airways. Concerts of famous singers have also performed here… Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher might ring a bell!
