The city tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the Middle East, and the only mosque open to non-Muslims in Muscat. From this magical place, you’ll reach the picturesque Muttrah Corniche, going through the coastal road of Shatti Al Qurum. Visit of Muttrah Souq, which retains the chaotic interest of a traditional Arab market albeit housed under modern timber roofing. Here you’ll have the chance to buy Omani specialties like Frankincense, Omani daggers spices, and perfumes.
You will also be able to enjoy a moment along the corniche admiring the various cruise ships on the water at Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Port. You will then visit Bait Al Zubair Museum. The museum tour will provide you with a wealth of information about the Country’s structure, cultural tradition, and heritage. Then it will be time for lunch in a local restaurant in Muttrah, to delight your senses with some bites of typical food! Will follow a photo stop at the official residence of his Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, The Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali.
