No visit to New York City is complete without visiting the somber and poignant 9-11 Memorial and Museum. Occupying roughly half of the 16-acre site, the memorial honors the 2,977 lives lost on that fateful day in September 2001. The names of the deceased are inscribed on bronze parapets surrounding the twin memorial pools.
The museum is located seven stories below the memorial, at the very foundation of where the Twin Towers once stood. You'll learn about the history of the tragic events through interactive technology, artifacts, historical records, imagery and personal stories as you explore the 110,000 square feet of space.
