What to expect

Just beyond Agadir, the road slows down and the landscape changes pace. “Tiout is where life still follows the rhythm of the palms,” says Hassan, one of our expert local guides. “People stop to talk, share tea and let the day unfold.” You'll feel it as soon as you arrive. After passing argan trees — sometimes with goats balanced up in their branches — you'll be welcomed into a local home for sweet mint tea, poured slowly just as Moroccan tradition require. From here, you'll go for a walk through Tiout's oasis, which brings you into village life and surrounds you with swaying palm trees.

Lunch is served at a traditional Kasbah in Tiout, a simple setting where you'll tuck in to chicken tajine, vegetable and meat couscous and a seasonal fruit plate to finish. Next, your journey continues to the walled town of Taroudant. With your guide leading the way, you'll walk along the old ramparts, wander through the medina and check out the souk, a marketplace where you can pick up souvenirs like lanterns and spices.

On the return to Agadir, there's one final stop at Domaine Villate Limoune. As you stroll through the orange groves with your local guide, you'll learn how the fruit is grown and harvested, before tasting fresh juice straight from the source. It's a calm, fitting end to a day shaped by people, places and the small details that stay with you long after the road leads back to the coast.
