Faunia is an extensive natural and thematic park that hosts more than 1,200 animals from 152 different species across 4 ecosystems and 15 thematic areas. Each area is carefully adapted to each species, with its own habitat, temperature, and humidity conditions, spanning 16 hectares with enhanced topography, lakes, and ponds—all located within Madrid’s city limits.
Faunia showcases 4 of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems, such as The Jungle, with beautiful toucans or manatees, The Polar Ecosystem, the largest Polar Ecosystem exhibit in Europe, The African Forest, with diferent species from Madagascar, and The Temperate Forest, with a rich diversity of animals.
In Faunia's thematic areas, you can also explore a nocturnal exhibit, where you’ll encounter fascinating animals. Venture through a karstic cave in Under the Earth's Mysteries to discover deep-dwelling animals. Visit a mangrove with impressive Nile crocodiles, or discover an array of venomous creatures like snakes or spiders.
Faunia also offers educational activities, as well as informative talks about some of the most iconic species. Also, the interactive animal encounters, will make your visit a true nature experience.
Faunia plays an important role in raising awareness and conserving endangered species. In collaboration with the Parques Reunidos Foundation and within the framework of EAZA, it organizes educational activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness, care for nature, and respect for animals.
