What to expect

Training dolphins is one of those jobs that sound beyond our reach – until now. This dolphin trainer experience at Xelha is your chance to get to know dolphins in a hands-on way. You'll spend the entire day learning about these incredible animals while teaching them new tricks.

With groups limited to just six guests, this full day activity is truly immersive. Under the guidance of an expert trainer, you'll be taught everything you need to know about dolphins – their diet, behaviour and training techniques. You'll be in an out of the pool, taking part in exercises that they use to train them every day including sign language, jumps, petting and so much more.

To keep your energy up for such a hard day's work, you'll be served a buffet lunch with drinks halfway through the day. What's more, you'll get to know everything about the breeding programmes.

The Riviera Maya can be home to adventure, nature and relaxation, and you'll get to sample all three on this morning of activities. First up, you'll head to a private beach for a guided snorkelling session. The coral reef you'll be exploring forms part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest reef system in the world, where you can expect to spot tropical fish and possibly even turtles and rays. Next, you'll head to a natural cenote – a kind of sacred underground freshwater pool that's unique to this part of Mexico. Full-day Xplor Dolphinclusive adventure

Your day kicks off bright and early with a trip to Delphinus, where you'll have the opportunity to get in the water in small groups with the dolphins that live in the park. You'll learn all about the animals and play with them. Afterwards, you'll make your way to Xplor Park, where activities like zip-lining, buggy riding and cenote swimming are all on the cards. What's more, your transfers are taken care of, plus lunch and all the admission fees for both places are included.
