During the Communist era in Hungary, the art of cheesemaking, sadly, was more or less lost and mass-produced cheese became the norm. These days hobby (as well as professional) cheesemaking is being re-discovered, but production is on a very small scale. The cheese you will taste has proudly been sourced directly from the country’s finest artisan cheesemakers. Also the cured meat you will taste comes straight from the farmers, including Mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, and grey beef sausage. The cheese and charcuterie board is a simple and perfect complement to the wine selection, which includes various styles of wines from around the country.
