This eight-hour tour is all about scenic driving routes. On the first stretch to the Nazari Gardens you can look out over the flanks of the Sierra Nevada mountain range – its green terraced farmlands dramatically contrast with the desert-like foothills. When you arrive at the gardens you'll have time to follow the branches of water that span the Hispanic-Muslim garden. Next stop's Pampaneria Village with a quick photo stop at Presa de Rules on the way. The small village has still got its traditional Berber architecture with terraced clusters of grey-white box-shaped houses with flat clay roofs. Tuck in to a typical Spanish lunch here – including an almond-infused Alpujarrena soup and apple and walnut sponge cake on the menu. The final stop is Capileira – it's right at the top of the valley and there are cobbled streets intricate passageways and stone houses. You'll then be taken back to the ship driving through small villages like Orgiva and Lanjaron.
