See the best of what Ancient Rome has to offer in this small group tour. An absolute must! Explore the sites with a Dutch guide and avoid the long queues at the desk with pre-booked time slots. Get carried away by the stories behind the facts. Your guide will bring the ruins to life and will show you things you would easily miss on by yourself.
Your discovery tour starts with a walk through the Roman Forum. See the Curia of Senate, the last resting place of Julius Caesar, and the Via Sacra, a Roman roadway where the tracks left by carts can still be seen.
Next, you will see the perfectly preserved temple of Antoninus and Faustina and the Arch of Titus. Walk up the Palatine Hill passing the Horti Farnesiani, a rain cave and secret gardens. The view of Rome from the Palatine is extraordinary.
Your will conclude the tour with a visit to the Colosseum, where your guide will tell you all about the brave gladiators, lion fights, naval wars, and executions, “Those who are about to die greet you”.
