Explore Tonle Sap Lake and the floating village of Kampong Khleang and learn how the inhabitants' life changes during the year.
Travel about 45 kilometers from Siem Reap to Tonle Sap Lake. Here jump on a boat to Kompong Khleang, a village built high on stilts in Tonle Sap Lake. Discover the village that is home to about 6,000 people who earn their living mainly from fishing. Depending on the time of year, your visit will offer a different experience. During the monsoon season starting in May, the streets fill up with water and become canals that are navigated by boat. In the dry season from March to April, the water recedes revealing the houses perched high on wooden stilts.
This tour is recommended especially from October to January.
